Chief Kevin Lomeli began his fire service career as a high school intern at the Douglas Fire Department in 1997 and then volunteered with the Pirtleville Fire Department in 1998. In June 2000, he transitioned to the career fire service with the Douglas Fire Department. Since that time, he has filled every sworn position within the Department serving as a Firefighter, Engineer, Lead Fire Engineer (Lieutenant), Captain, Interim Deputy Chief and Fire Chief, being promoted to Fire Chief in January 2019.

Born and raised in Douglas, AZ, Chief Lomeli is a graduate of the Douglas High School. Chief Lomeli continued his education at Cochise College obtaining certifications in, EMT, Firefighter I & II and Paramedic. Other specialized training includes, Fire Building inspector, Fire Arson Investigator and Hazardous Materials Technician.
