The Industrial Development Authority of the City of Douglas was founded in 1969 and is an Arizona nonprofit corporation. Douglas is located in the southeastern corner of Arizona on the U.S.-Mexico border, across from the city of Agua Prieta, Sonora.
The Industrial Development Authority of the City of Douglas is for the public benefit to promote the development of industry, trade, and commerce all in an effort to diversify the region's economic base and to raise standards of living in the greater Douglas area.

The IDA members meet the second Tuesday of the month at 11:00 a.m., at City Hall building.
Directors of The Industrial Development Authority are appointed by the Douglas City Council.
Directors must be residents and qualified electors of the City of Douglas, Cochise County, Arizona. No Director shall be an officer or employee of the City of Douglas.
