Douglas Military Banner Program
We are pleased to introduce the Douglas Military Banner Program, in partnership with the American Legion, to honor our local military heroes with personalized banners displayed throughout our historic downtown and other areas within the community.
We invite your organization to sponsor this initiative. Your support will help fund the production, installation, and maintenance of these banners. All sponsors will be recognized on our website and social media. Sponsorship tiers range from $500 to $1,700, with custom donations also welcome.

Welcome to Douglas Veteran Resources
The City of Douglas, we are proud to support the veterans who live among us. More than just providing essential services, we are honored to assist those who have served our nation, recognizing that they are a vital part of our community. Veterans are not only recipients of our support, but also our friends, family, and neighbors. It’s our privilege to ensure they have access to the resources they need to thrive.
Our collaboration with the American Legion enables us to extend our services and amplify our impact. Together, we host community events, workshops, and outreach programs aimed at empowering veterans and ensuring they have access to all the benefits they are entitled to. The American Legion also provides critical advocacy and representation for veterans on local and national levels.
Mesothelioma & Veterans
U.S. veterans have an increased risk of developing mesothelioma due to the widespread use of asbestos throughout military bases, ships, vehicles and equipment for many decades. Even now, older buildings and machinery that still contain asbestos can pose a danger during maintenance, demolition or active-duty situations. These exposures have left many veterans vulnerable to asbestos-related illnesses today.
We are proud to share valuable support and educational resources offered by The Mesothelioma Center for veterans who may have been exposed to asbestos during their service. The Mesothelioma Center provides information on mesothelioma risks, early detection, symptoms, and guidance tailored specifically for veterans. You can access their veteran resources at asbestos.com/veterans and learn more about mesothelioma symptoms at asbestos.com/mesothelioma/symptoms. Their team connects individuals with trusted medical, legal, and support services to help navigate diagnosis, treatment, and benefits options.
