Mayor Jose Grijalva

33rd Mayor of the City of Douglas

Jose Grijalva, the 33rd Mayor of the City of Douglas, was born and raised in Douglas, Arizona. At 38 years old, Mayor Grijalva has dedicated much of his life to serving his community. A proud 2005 graduate of Douglas High School, he began giving back at a young age through volunteer work with the local food bank and youth sports programs.

In addition to his civic involvement, Mayor Grijalva has served as an assistant preacher, further demonstrating his commitment to supporting and uplifting his community. Prior to becoming mayor, he served as a city council member for six years, where he gained valuable experience addressing the needs of Douglas residents. During his tenure, he also served as Chair of the Finance Committee. He recently became the Finance Committee Chair overseeing the city’s financial matters and ensuring fiscal responsibility.

Mayor Grijalva’s leadership is rooted in his deep connection to the Douglas community, and he remains committed to fostering growth, opportunity, and a brighter future for all its residents.
